The Strength to Grow

Someone cares about you more than you will ever know, but disrespect and disappointment is all you show.
You can see it in their face, it seems impossible to win this race.
You were ahead for so long, but you just couldn’t remain strong.
You had to let them down, now they know where lack of trust can be found!
But you thought you were good, you thought for goodness is what you stood?
Obviously not, though, maybe you should just go!
But where?  Who else would care?
No one that I can think of; perhaps love is not enough?
Why do you have all this doubt?   Don’t you know what life is about?
You know it’s full of trial, don’t feel sorry for yourself, it’s not your style!
You made a mistake now responsibility you need to take!
I don’t care how long it takes you, be a man, it’s what you need to do!
After you’ve fixed what you’ve done then maybe their hearts will be won.
Until then, keep on trying, it’s what I would do, and I’m not lying!
